How we're so close to Christmas I do not know - however, I'm looking ahead to the new year and hoping to *finally* tackle some projects. To keep inspired, I've been looking back at some of my past Before & Afters for this series (list at the bottom) and this little bathroom goes down as one of my all time favorites!
While it was a complete remodel, it also included lots of quick updates that could be done separately (mirror, light fixture, tile, shelves). Check it out below & let me know what you think!
Also, keep reading to the end and see a bookshelf interview I did (wheeee!!!)
BEFORE:
There was nothing really *wrong* with this bathroom seen here as we moved in. It was ok. Well, the vanity was a leftover kitchen cabinet - resourceful, but way too tall for a bathroom! Plus, I had visions of light, high contrast, wood, and more natural vibes.
Since we were remodeling other areas, I folded this space into the mix (which usually saves money in the end).
There's a full article with details and sources but here are the highlights:
Painted walls neutral white (Chantilly Lace)
Painted Accent Wall Black (Iron Ore)
Replaced Vanity
Add Half Wall Tile a neutral white
Replaced Mirror
Changed Light Fixture
Added Shelves Above Toilet
Replaced blinds with woven wood shades
Changed Toilet (the old one was incredibly low)
Updated Bathroom Hardware
Part of whole house remodel info:
Installed new white oak wood floors
Updated trim work
AFTER
Woohoo! The white walls plus black accent wall made all the different in adding more depth. Using a proportionate vanity made it feel bigger and the update fixtures changed the vibe entirely.
This little bathroom was one of my favorite makeovers. ๐ค
This makeover also included one of my biggest DIY design failures - click above to read about that mistake and all the details. Below, you'll find a quick link to sources.
Also, in other fun news, my thoughts on Bookshelf Styling were recently featured on Martha Stewart Living - delighted to share my tips (especially after watching her documentary! ๐ )
