Hello Reader,
So we've got a little bit of sunshine here in Oregon and this is when I get more questions about windows - as in, what is a good window covering option?
Well, I'll be the first to embrace a good naked window. That's right, I love some windows that are completely bare. The minimalist in me lets in all that natural light.
Buuuut, that's not always realistic or functional. So then what? Well, the option I return to again and again (and again as it goes), are natural woven wood shades.
Woven Wood Shades
There are so many reasons I turn to these shades. I mean, I've used them everywhere from bathrooms, kitchens, to bedrooms and everywhere in between.
Basically they tick off a million boxes all at once:
- Add Warmth - sounds like a fluff word but truly most spaces need more warmth - especially if you're recovering from Millennial Gray
- Dose of Texture - again, not just a fancy decor word but lots of rooms feel flat. One note, clinical. This usually is a sign we need some texture.
- Natural - easy to way to layer in some nature
- Easy to Order - lots of different companies make it easy. I've ordered from Blinds.com and it's just a step by step checkout
- Easy to Install - No joke, I've done it myself. Like all by myself.
- Custom - Just measure your window and order.
If you're curious about the EXACT woven wood shades I've used in all of my different homes (yep, I've moved a lot), here are the details:
- Kula Sandy Beach (have to click "more row of colors")
- Blackout Liner only in bedroom
- Valance Option for layered looks
