Tips for Styling with Thrifted Decor

Hello Reader,

Feeling ready for fall? Here in Oregon we're jumping into fall with humidity and gray skies. While I'm a warm weather gal, this switch usually nudges me to get the house back in shape. This is actually my favorite time of year for de-cluttering (see my closet project mess below)....

But it also makes me think about what I DO choose to buy and keep in our home & many of those items are thrifted or second hand. Some folks are shocked by this but it's true - I think it gives space a layered, dynamic feeling.

I've gathered up some of my tried & true favorite thrifted items that I never pass up. I created a whole post so be sure to check that for styling & sanitizing tips!

Thrifted Decor

Items I Never Pass Up

  • Wood Stools (use for plant stands & extra seating)
  • Woven Baskets & Trays (great for shelf styling, see above)
  • Glass Bottles & Vases (gift giving, bathroom & shelf styling, see above)
  • Solid Wood Dresser (bedrooms, side tables, entryways)

Vintage Rugs

I mentioned this last week but since we're still on the topic of second hand - I thought I'd mention Revival Rugs again as their vintage rug sale continues (I put a little vintage rug in my kitchen)

Sneak Peek

Ok, here's a very real & raw look at my ACTUAL closet. I know, I know. 🫣 But, good news - I've team up with Home Depot to finally tackle this area and get my act together. Stay tuned for updates on how I spruced it up and embraced adulting.

I hope these tips were helpful! As always, please hit REPLY with any questions- I'm happy to help! Until next week....
